This Privacy Policy covers the advertising platform known as AwesomeAds (the “Platform”), as well as the activities on theTotallyAwesome website, licensed owner of AwesomeAds. This Privacy Policy is divided into two sections: Platform Privacy Policy and TotallyAwesome Website Privacy Policy.


The AwesomeAds Platform was designed and built for the specific requirements of digital advertising to young people and children, including those under 13 years old. Our Platform does not collect any personal information from Visitors of the third-party websites and apps on which AwesomeAds serves advertising.

We may collect aggregated non-personally identifiable information about Visitors whenever they interact with a website on which the Platform is serving ads or conducting analytics. Such aggregated non-personal information may include the browser name, the type of device, the country or US state in which the device is located, and anonymous statistical information about the advertisements seen by such Visitor on that particular website or app, such as the time the advertisement was visible on the website or app, and whether the Visitor clicked on or otherwise engaged with the advertisement.

The Platform also collects non-personally identifiable information from Visitors in order to enable frequency capping of advertisements, to target advertisements on the basis of the context of the Visitor (the content of the website or app, the type of device and the type of data connection) and the geolocation (at the country or US state level) of the Visitor, and to count the number of impressions, clicks and other anonymous performance data required to report to advertisers on the effectiveness of their campaigns.

In order to enable ad performance measurement and frequency capping referenced above, AwesomeAds creates a custom identifier that is specific to the user and site/app while not persistent across domains, sites or mobile applications. The use of this non-persistent custom identifier is only for internal operations, therefore it is not personal information as defined under Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

We work with certain third-party providers of services and technologies to enable the Platform to deliver advertisements on third-party websites and apps. These third-party providers may collect some non-personal information on those sites/apps. They include:

  • Moat: a provider of advertising analytics and verification services. Moat collects non-personally identifiable information such as an advertising ID, the number of ad impressions or clicks, the placement of the ad, etc, for the purposes of internally reporting aggregated statistics back to us. All our third-party providers have been informed that the third-party websites/apps on which AwesomeAds are served include Visitors who are children under the age of 13 and that these sites and apps are subject to COPPA. We do not knowingly share any personal information, nor any persistent identifiers with these third-party providers.

COPPA Safe Harbor

AwesomeAds is certified as COPPA-compliant by the kidSAFE Seal Program. The kidSAFE Seal Program is an independent safety certification service and seal-of-approval program designed exclusively for children-friendly websites and technologies, including kid-targeted game sites, educational services, virtual worlds, social networks, mobile apps, tablet devices, and other similar interactive services and technologies. The TotallyAwesome website (“Site”) serves business customers of TotallyAwesome who may register and log into AwesomeAds as advertisers or publishers. Through the Site, advertisers can access the Platform to set up and launch advertising campaigns to be delivered on third-party websites and apps, and publishers can make their advertising inventory available to such advertisers.

What is being collected on the Site?

Personal information

We may collect personal information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit the Site, register on the Site, subscribe to the newsletter, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, phone number, and work details.

We will collect personal information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to provide personal information, however this may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.

Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously.

Non-personal information

We may collect non-personal information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system, the Internet service providers utilized, user agent and other similar information.

We do not sell, trade, or rent personal information to others. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above. We may use third party service providers to help us operate our business and the Site or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys. We may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes provided that you have given us your permission.
